As the SFR operator acquired a large number of new assets, company leaders realized they needed help to ensure that electrical panels were up to code. They also knew they needed to get eyes on any potential issues extremely quickly, which wasn’t possible for their in-house teams due to the high volume of inspections needed and their teams’ current workloads and assignments.
The SFR operator looked to MCS for our expertise, giving us the data, entrusting us to provide trained and qualified inspectors, and serving as an extension of their organization in markets across four states (Arizona, Illinois, Indiana and Texas). The project required reviewing electrical panels—circuit breakers, junction boxes and electrical systems—at the newly acquired properties to ensure the technology was up to code and making the client aware of any existing issues.
MCS completed the work efficiently thanks to our hybrid service model, utilizing our centralized third-party inspector network and our self-perform capabilities. We quickly created the inspection criteria and form, managed the inspections and established the data points needed, returning the necessary information back to the client via their platform for easy integration with their systems.
MCS managed 536 inspection orders across several markets, functioning as an extension of the client’s organization. A large percentage of the inspections determined repairs were needed to bring them up to code. MCS assisted with those as appropriate at the client’s direction. Completion time ranged between 5.5 and 16 days, depending on the state and requirements of the job (including permitting in some cases).
The client was pleased with both the quality of MCS’s work and our response time, requesting additional inspections as a result. Our broad network of vendors and our ability to complete this specific type of inspection tailored to their needs and upload it to their system was key to MCS’s success.
