Become a FEMA Disaster Assessor | MCS

MCS is committed to hiring dedicated and compassionate quality inspectors for the FEMA Disaster Housing Inspection Services Program. Because disasters can happen anywhere at any time, pre-qualified inspectors who can travel on short notice are key to ensuring that people affected by a natural disaster get the support they need to rebuild not only their home but also their lives.  

Are you ready to become an assessor/inspector? To be a FEMA disaster assessor/inspector with MCS you must:  

  • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • Be a U.S. citizen and have a valid driver’s license. 
  • Be fluent in speaking, reading and comprehending English. Knowledge of or fluency in Spanish is a plus. 
  • Be proficient in basic math and computer skills.  
  • Be willing and have the flexibility to travel frequently if necessary.  
  • Have the desire to help others in need and make a difference along with the willingness to work in disaster-affected environments, which can be demanding and unstable.  
  • Complete and pass a FEMA-required background investigation, credit check, and fingerprint analysis. All candidates must have physically resided in the U.S. or a U.S. territory for at least 3 of the last 5 years at the time of the FEMA background investigation.
