MCS Training: Employees Grow; Clients Benefit

MCS is committed to ensuring our employees have the tools they need to be successful and grow in their careers. Our focus on training makes us a sought-after workplace, and our training investments are paying off for our employees and our clients. Here’s how.
Manager training
Our employees’ professional development starts with leaders who can help guide them in their careers. We make sure our team leads by ensuring supervisors and managers have the training they need to do more than handle day-to-day management tasks. For example, our leaders are equipped to conduct effective annual performance evaluations that engage their team members in understanding their performance, areas for improvement and goal setting. Then, managers can guide employees toward training modules in our learning management system (LMS) based on their personal goals or areas where they would like to improve their skills or knowledge. By ensuring our managers have the necessary training and tools to help them succeed, they are better positioned to support, mentor and nurture their team members.
Career pathing
MCS recently invested in a new LMS and launched career pathways. These pathways provide a clear, visual roadmap of potential career trajectories, along with the skills and training needed to achieve them.
To support this approach, the MCS training department created professional development packages outlining the core competencies and related training required for each pathway. This investment not only empowers employees to strengthen their own professional skills but also helps MCS build critical capabilities across the organization and a future generation of leaders.
Because we’re committed to helping our employees grow, our LMS and career pathing tools ensure employees are both considered and well-prepared for their next opportunity. Hiring managers can also connect with the training department to identify candidates who have proactively completed courses in their chosen pathway, demonstrating their initiative and readiness for the role they’re pursuing.
Job-specific training
In addition to supporting our employees’ long-term development, we leverage the expertise of our in-house experts to develop targeted job training programs that ensure we deliver the highest level of service to our customers. For example, our Residential Services’ safety manager designs bimonthly safety training sessions to cover required safety protocols and reinforce our deep-rooted culture of safety.
Instead of one-size-fits-all training, MCS prioritizes personalized development, focusing on the unique needs of each individual and regional service center to equip our teams with the skills they need to best serve our customers.
Values training and collaboration days
At MCS, our values drive our culture and help make us stronger as a team. That’s why we host Collaboration Days three times a year in our main locations. (That’s 18 events across all of our locations for 2025.) Each Collaboration Day brings employees together in person and focuses on a single component of our MCS SHINE values (Shine, Hustle, Integrity, Nurture, Excellence). For example, our spring collaboration days were focused on service: providing the best service to our clients, our service partners, our colleagues and the communities we serve.
Collaboration days include fun team-building activities and an engaging curriculum, which allows our teams to connect and focus on our SHINE values, and understand their true importance.
Client training
MCS is invested in training at every level, and that includes training for our clients as needed. Our technology platform connects with many other systems for an integrated experience, and we provide demos to educate our clients on the ins and outs of using it. If they have follow-up questions, our training department can connect them with their client team to get the answers they need.
Our commitment to training strengthens every aspect of our business, from the relationships we build to the results we achieve. By investing in employee development, MCS attracts top talent and nurtures their growth, increasing both retention and performance. This dedication ensures our team consistently delivers the highest level of service to our clients.
