After another strong year of progress and growth in 2024—including acquiring a company, adding a line of business and doubling the size of our existing business—MCS is poised to take on even more new opportunities and challenges in 2025. 
 
“In 2025 and really for the next two years, I see our trajectory continuing,” says MCS CEO Craig Torrance. “We want to see our business lines continue to drive more customers, more markets, more services, better software and more great people.”
 
As we look ahead to the new year, Torrance shares his thoughts on where MCS is headed and his vision for building on our success.

In just hours, a home—the place that held every birthday, holiday and late-night conversation—can be gone. A hurricane shows no mercy, leaving a homeowner watching all that they’ve worked for drift away as the roof collapses, water seeps in and debris litters the house. 

MCS Government Services is committed to hiring dedicated and compassionate quality inspectors for the FEMA Disaster Housing Inspection Services Program. Because disasters can happen anywhere at any time, pre-qualified inspectors who can travel on short notice are key to ensuring that people affected by a natural disaster get the support they need to rebuild not only their home but also their lives.  

Disaster assessors, often referred to as inspectors, play a critical role after hurricanes, earthquakes, large fires and other natural disasters. Their role is an integral part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Individual and Households Program (IHP) Field Services Contract that provides emergency grants for property owners impacted by natural disasters. Between 2018 and 2021, the federal agency authorized home inspections for 1.4 million applicants.  

As we enter the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, coastal communities, emergency responders and meteorologists are preparing for what could be an eventful period this year. The Atlantic hurricane season began June 1, which aligns with the timing of water temperatures warming to around 80 degrees and ends November 30, after the waters have cooled again.
